Jinja City. Uganda’s tourism hub
Jinja town is one of Uganda’s oldest cities with a unique history. During the colonial times, Jinja was an entry route from Mombasa to Mengo, the then capital of Buganda now known as Kampala.
Many Indian and Arab traders had to settle in Jinja and established their businesses there. This later turned Jinja into Uganda’s industrial town with all major industries located there.
As things started changing, industries started locating to Kampala leading a historical landmark in Jinja. this is what makes Jinja a destination to every tourist in Uganda. The unique features like the Source of the Nile, the Mabira rainforest, the old forts and ports and other ancient structures is what makes Jinja a tourism hub.
